On Thursday, October 26, amidst the picturesque setting of Bern, Switzerland, we had the immense pleasure of announcing the winner of the prestigious Children in Museums Award 2023 during our conference at the children’s museum Creaviva at Zentrum Paul Klee. We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Tokyo Toy Museum for their exceptional dedication to creating enriching and immersive experiences for children.

The Tokyo Toy Museum stands out as a beacon of creativity and innovation in the world of children’s museums. Their commitment to fostering imaginative play and interactive learning is truly commendable. Through carefully curated exhibits and hands-on activities, the museum provides a space where children can explore, learn, and grow.

We extend our gratitude to all the museums and institutions that participated in this year’s award, especially to the 12 shortlisted nominees. The calibre of work showcased was truly inspiring, and it speaks volumes about the global commitment to providing meaningful educational experiences for children.

CEO of Mercis Marja Kerkhof accepted the award on behalf of the TTM and next week, Miffy will be travelling to Japan.
